And the Ground Trembled.

 NEW RELEASE

My 7th book, And The Ground Trembled, is now out.
It is endorsed by USA Today best-selling author, Vonda Sinclair - "Celia Martin is an engaging storyteller. I absolutely loved And the Ground Trembled. It is beautifully written, entertaining, and a lot of fun.”
EXCERPT:
They were in the middle of the river, had silently skimmed around a ponderous ship at anchor, when Fogarty raised his oars from the water and cocked his head. His one eye narrowed, he peered into the wispy fog. “Somedin’s closin’ on us fast,” he said. Dropping the oars back in the water, he set to with a new vigor. “Lady Elizabet, do I say jump, ye jump.”
Elizabeth’s heart pummeled against her chest and her breath caught in her lungs. Jump into the river! She heard nothing, could see nothing, but she knew Fogarty’s senses, especially his hearing, were superior to hers.
“What do you mean by that!” William demanded.
Between puffs and pants, Fogarty spat out, “Barge, I tink. Comin’ fast. No lights. Could ram us.”
William’s hand tightened reassuringly on Elizabeth’s, and she turned to him, but he was peering upriver. She looked again. Did she see something? Oh my God, yes!
“Jump now, milady!” Fogarty’s words rang in her ears, but she could not budge. He still pulled desperately on the oars as if against hope they could escape the looming mass headed at them, then the boat shook and toppled as William jumped into the river pulling her with him. At the same instant the numbing cold water sucked the breath from her lungs, she heard a whacking sound and knew the skiff had been hit. https://cmartinbooks.kitsappublishing.com/
